When You Look at the State of the World

                My dear loving merciful Lord, my heart aches as I think about our world today and the status of the Church throughout the world. I see a mess, a huge confused mess that only You know how to make right. It boggles my mind to think how in today’s world, using modern technology, we can view the whole world at one time, not only its appearance, but also its cultures, its people and its spirituality. In historical times, this was impossible. What was happening on the other side of the world wasn’t shared throughout immediately the way it is now. One would think that with a bird’s eye view of the world, we would strive for more unity and the Church would be strong. Instead, the Church seems more divided than ever and worse of all, the Church is being pushed away or ignored all together. Humanity has become so egocentric that it is unified in its dysfunctionality and its self-importance. The more we learn about science and technology, the more inward we gaze instead of looking beyond ourselves and celebrating the mysteries of You. Corruption spreads like a disease and I wonder how You observe all this and remain loving and merciful. I abhor the fact that I too can be caught up in the raging torrents of the world and its shallow ways.

                “My dear passionate, contemplative child, you ponder these things in frustration, but you forget that it is all part of My plan. I am patient, loving and merciful because I know the whole story. You are only privy to a small window in this epic battle for souls. All will be well in the end. I have placed you in this story at this time because you have an important part to play in it. I have given you many gifts to prepare you for your part. Do not lose hope or focus, you are precious to Me and I will protect you. Do not be distracted by the noise around you. I am here and everywhere. Listen carefully for My presence and even when all seems a complete mess, I am there. Love will straighten out and conquer everything. Love is the creating force I use for everything. Anything else is love distorted, but everything can be repaired by love. That is why I remain loving and merciful, because I am the embodiment of love. I created everything out of love. I work only in love and with love. There is no other way for Me and so My people will be with Me for eternity because of and through love. Remain open always to love. Do not build walls around your heart. Keep your heart and soul open to receive My love and you too will act in mercy and love to all those around you. That is how we will clean up the mess together. Always remember the big picture. The view of the world and its people and cultures is only part of the whole picture. I also see eternity and heaven and all of us in loving bliss. Remember that bigger picture when you look at the state of the world and the Church. Trust in Me and trust in love for they are the same.”
